Atletico Rejects Juventus Bid for Sorloth Amid Striker Enquiries

Juventus’ summer striker search intensified on multiple fronts as the club accelerated their pursuit of Alexander Sorloth while making enquiries for Gabriel Jesus and Nicolas Jackson. This came following Dusan Vlahovic’s departure, prompting a comprehensive overhaul of their attacking options.

According to CalcioMercato, Atletico Madrid rejected Juventus’s opening offer of €22 million for Sorloth, as the Spanish club valued the Norwegian striker at €40 million, highlighting a significant negotiation gap. Optimism remained in Turin, however, as coach Luciano Spalletti personally contacted Sorloth, with personal terms already agreed for a contract worth €4 million per season until 2029, including an option for an additional year. Sorloth promised to provide an update on his future before the World Cup.

In addition to Sorloth, Juventus also enquired about Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus and Nicolas Jackson, with Jackson potentially looking to move away from Bayern Munich due to Harry Kane's central role in the club's tactical setup. Both players presented different profiles and price points compared to Sorloth and Kolo Muani, another target for the club. Juventus was leaving no stone unturned in their striker search, with Sorloth and Kolo Muani remaining the clear priorities.

Kolo Muani, returning to Paris after a loan at Tottenham, is expected to cost at least €40 million. Meanwhile, AC Milan also registered interest in Sorloth, adding urgency to Juventus’s pursuit. With other strikers like Openda and Jonathan David possibly leaving this summer, Juventus may make moves for multiple strikers before the transfer window closes.
