Andreas Christensen, the Danish international footballer, recently confirmed his intent to remain at FC Barcelona, stating, "Yes, that's all I can say" regarding his desire to stay at the club. Christensen's comments came during his time with the Danish national team, which is not participating in the ongoing World Cup.
As his contract with Barcelona is set to expire on June 30, Christensen's renewal is one of the key topics for the club this summer. He emphasized his willingness to extend his stay, reinforcing that he hopes to finalize the agreement soon. "There are not many updates. I don’t have too much to share, but I hope to do so soon. Everyone knows what I want and where my head is at, so I hope everything aligns soon," he commented.
Christensen's latest appearance for Barcelona was after recovering from a series of injuries that hampered his season. He was a starter for Denmark in a recent friendly match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the game ended in a draw. Prior to this match, Christensen had not started since December due to injuries. He noted, "I would have loved to play more minutes, but it was something I couldn't control."
The Danish defender's season was notably challenging, having only participated in 18 matches across all competitions, totaling 543 minutes. His most recent start for Barcelona before his national team duty was in a Copa del Rey match on December 16, 2025. Following that encounter, Christensen did not return to the pitch until the final stretch of the 2025-26 season, where he played 28 minutes against Valencia.
Christensen expressed optimism about his current form, stating, "It has been a long five months, but I feel I am in a good place right now. These international matches can help me feel better." As he continues to train and play for Denmark, he will face Ukraine next in another friendly.
