Transfer expert explains AC Milan's transfer focus post-Ramos

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto has stated that Mason Mount is not on AC Milan’s shopping list this summer. He noted that the Rossoneri have prioritised signing a centre-back following the acquisition of Gonçalo Ramos.

Last weekend, Milan reportedly struck a deal with PSG for Ramos, marking the club’s first summer signing. According to some Italian sources, after securing a new centre-forward, the Rossoneri were interested in strengthening their central midfield with Mount, who plays for Manchester United. However, Moretto clarified in a recent YouTube segment that the club’s transfer strategy has shifted to focus on acquiring a new central defender.

He emphasized that Mount is currently not a target for Milan and that the club is "110%" concentrated on finding a high-level reinforcement in central defence. Various reports have already identified Benfica’s Antonio Silva as one of Milan’s primary targets in defense.

Moreover, Moretto mentioned that before Milan can pursue new central midfielders, they first need to offload some players who will be returning from loan spells. Once these adjustments are made, and after they secure a new center-back, the club may then consider focusing on the midfield options. Nonetheless, it seems improbable that they will make a move for Mount.
