Great Britain's Henry Patten and Finnish partner Harri Heliovaara lost 6-4, 6-2 to top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos in the French Open men's doubles final on 6 June 2026. The second-seeded duo, aged 30 and 37 respectively, aimed to secure their third Grand Slam title together, following their previous victories at Wimbledon in 2024 and the Australian Open in 2025.
Patten and Heliovaara reached the final without dropping a set, but Patten remarked that it was a tough day for the team. The match lasted one hour and 16 minutes, with Granollers, 40, and Zeballos, 41, successfully defending their title. Had Patten and Heliovaara triumphed, Patten would have made history as the first Briton to win the men's doubles title in Paris during the Open era.
Despite the defeat, both players will become world number one when the rankings update on Monday. Patten expressed his pride in reaching the Roland Garros final for the first time, citing it as a significant positive. He noted, "I think it was a disappointing match. In doubles, if you’re a little bit off your game, then you can get exposed, particularly on clay. It’s disappointing but we’ll be playing again in a week and trying to do our best again. I think we can leave with our heads held high."
