Frosinone has officially earned promotion to Serie A for the 2026-27 season after a successful campaign in Serie B. The decisive moment came during the 2025-26 Serie B season, which concluded recently. Frosinone secured a second-place finish by achieving an impressive 5-0 victory over Mantova on May 8, 2026. This result confirmed their promotion alongside Venezia, who had already been declared champions of Serie B after finishing the league with a total of 87 points. Venezia was previously promoted the weekend before, when they also secured a 2-0 win against Palermo, closing the season in dominant form with 38 matches played.
Both Frosinone and Venezia had faced relegation from Serie A at the end of the 2024-25 season but made a swift return to the top division. Furthermore, the Serie B relegation play-offs are now officially set. Monza and Palermo wrapped up the season in third and fourth place, securing their places in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
The play-off participants also include Catanzaro in fifth, Modena in sixth, Juve Stabia in seventh, and Avellino in eighth, who will compete in the preliminary round of the play-offs. Catanzaro will face Avellino, while Modena takes on Juve Stabia in single-elimination matches scheduled for May 12. The play-off semi-finals will take place over two legs on May 16 and 17, with the return matches on May 19 and 20. The final round of the play-offs will occur over two legs on May 24 and May 29.
In the relegation battle at the bottom of the Serie B table, it has been confirmed that Pescara, Spezia, and Reggiana were relegated. Meanwhile, Bari and Sudtirol are set to participate in the relegation play-out.
