Steve Barker’s Simba SC advanced to the Tanzanian Federation Cup final after thrashing Coastal Union 4-0, with Rushine De Reuck scoring one of the goals. Senegalese striker Libasse Gueye opened the scoring in the 19th minute, giving Simba a 1-0 lead at halftime.
After the hour mark, Nickson Kibabage doubled the lead for Simba, making it 2-0. The Tanzanian giants secured the victory when former Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine De Reuck converted a penalty in the 77th minute to make it 3-0. Clatous Chama, the in-form 35-year-old, capped off the rout with a fourth goal just three minutes before the final whistle.
With this victory, Simba qualified for the Federation Cup final, presenting Barker with an opportunity to lift his second trophy of the season after previously winning the Muungano Cup as the head coach of the former Stellenbosch FC. They will now face the winner between Azam and Young Africans in the final. Barker's men remain unbeaten in 30 games and are pursuing a treble, sitting just two points behind Premier League leaders Young Africans with three games remaining.
