Youcef Belaïli has made headlines with a new turn in his career. Although a contract extension with Espérance Sportive de Tunis seemed virtually finalized, the Algerian international ultimately decided to take a different path, prioritizing a return to Algeria.
According to reports from Mosaïque FM, the 34-year-old winger did not attend the medical examination scheduled for Tuesday with the Tunisian club, an important step that was supposed to precede his signing of a new contract with Sang et Or. The new agreement included securing payments owed to Belaïli by ES Tunis, as well as maintaining his financial benefits. However, discussions apparently ended abruptly, with Belaïli opting to conclude his stint in Tunisia.
Now, the former player of Brest and Ajaccio is reportedly close to rejoining MC Alger. The reigning Algerian champion has already made progress on the matter and is awaiting the resolution of certain administrative issues, particularly those related to his dispute with the Corsican club.
